Welcome to GOLF-at-HOME

Quite often the driving range can be a daunting experience for many, which is one of the reasons why we provide this unique and completely private service, tailored individually for your needs.

Home tuition produces greater results. Results that are achieved through teaching into nets in the comfort of your own surroundings.

This allows us to focus solely on your swing, creating a golf swing adapted to your ability, and in turn you’ll strike straighter balls, feeling relaxed and confident for that all important first shot off the tee.

Our passion, just like yours is golf and we cater for all ages and abilities. Our affordable service also means that if you and a partner, friend or family member also need a lesson, you can share it within our one hour lesson at no extra cost.

Our Journey

After ending up on the same golf instructor certification course in the beautiful backdrop of Scotland, Vaughan and Karen discovered that they lived only 35 mins away from each other in Berkshire.

And it was whilst enjoying a round of golf together that they came up with the idea of offering mobile golf tuition…

Karen set out to find all the equipment needed to ensure not only could golf be taught from someones back garden (or front), but it had to be safe and be able to fit in Vaughans Ford Fiesta. That done, they now needed to find clients.

So Karen went to her disability sport in Maidenhead and offer to teach golf to people with disabilities. It was a massive hit with the members and they can been seen today practicing on the local driving range.

In 2004, Golf-at-Home had expanded into offering not just private home tuition, but group sessions too.

Vaughan took it into the local schools and Karen gave group sessions for women and into kids clubs including the Scouts.

This was the year when they both felt everything would change with the purchase of a Golf simulator. The task for Karen was working out how to make it this mobile and house it safely at events.

At first they used scaffolding covered with a thick plastic lining, but this required 2 people and took over about 2 hour to construct. So Karen’s next challenge was to look for something easier.

By 2008 Karen had discovered an inflatables company who could bespoke and house for the golf simulator in, making set up up simple to blow up and quick to set up.

But sadly the 2008 economic crash killed corporate events and the business had to close down.

Despite the events of the past, they remain life-long besties, with Vaughan continuing to offer private home tuition as well as golf club making and repairs.

As for Karen.. well, even though she no longer teaches golf herself she still created this website and the Golf-at-Home mobile app for Vaughan, knowing that he can continue the journey to get more people playing better golf from the comfort of their own surroundings.
